Job Summary
Education Specialist are responsible to the Director of Special Education and the site administrator. Education Specialist provide direct instruction to and coordinate the instructional programs for students with exceptional needs enrolled in the special day class programs at each school. Provides a basic core program for learning handicapped students consistent with state education code requirements.
Salary
Salary commensurate with experience and education. Certificated faculty members are compensated on the VTA salary scale for teachers. Faculty members receive a generous package of medical benefits, and enrollment in the California STRS retirement plan.
Length of Work Year
186 days per year for new teachers
Requirements / Qualifications
Required: Special Education Credential authorizing Mild/Mod, Mod/Severe, and English Learner.
