Job Summary
To assist the Assistant Superintendent of Special Education in implementing the department’s operations and administration. Directly supervises and evaluates special education and related services staff as assigned. Employees in this classification receive limited and general supervision. Primary contact for agencies cooperatively serving special education students and their families (i.e. Headstart, Northbay Regional Center). Directs and leads the implementation of the special education preschool program. Coordinates para-educator staffing with Personnel. Coordinates the staff development activities for special education staff.
Salary
Salary commensurate with experience and education. Certificated faculty members are compensated on the VTA salary scale for teachers. Faculty members receive a generous package of medical benefits, and enrollment in the California STRS retirement plan.

Requirements / Qualifications
Required: Education Specialist Instruction Credential - Mild/Moderate OR Mod/Severe
Must have Administrative Credential, or qualify for one, and hold a valid Special Education Credential.
