Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Director of Student Attendance and Welfare, the Student Reengagement Specialist (SRS) provides support to reengage students to their education whether Virtual or In-Person. The SRS is responsible in the identification of barriers that impede student learning and will address issues related to removing barriers to student participation and attendance. The SRS is responsible for providing mentoring and behavioral support for students to promote academic and socio-emotional success. The SRS works with District and Schools in addressing the needs and building relationships with families, students and staff to create a positive environment that promotes student wellbeing and success. The SRS works to involve parents in school/district functions and directs them to appropriate community service agencies for assistance.
Requirements / Qualifications
High school diploma
California Drivers License
Certification:
Obtain and maintain the following valid licenses or certificates during the term of employment (the District will assist the employee in obtaining the initial Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NCI)
Experience
Experience working in schools with children and adolescents, desirable.
Experience working with community groups or agencies, desirable.
Salary Information
$22.85-$29.14 an hour
Hours/Days
180 days a year, 6.24 hours a day, 5 days a week
