Superintendent Search: Vacaville Unified School District
The Vacaville Unified School District Board of Trustees invites a visionary, collaborative, and student-centered leader to serve as its next Superintendent. Nestled between San Francisco and Sacramento, VUSD is a vibrant district serving approximately 12,500 students across 18 award-winning schools. This is a rare opportunity to lead a district that is deeply integrated into its community and committed to the mission of graduating all students with “more than a diploma” by being college, career, and life ready.
From our Spanish/English Peer Immersion and Cultural Education (SPICE) program and our Sierra Vista K-8 School, to our Vacaville Early College High School (VECHS) and specialized Career Technical Education (CTE) pathways, we empower students to make great choices for their future.
The ideal candidate we are seeking is an inspirational leader who will:
Champion Early Learning: Continue the vital work of our Educational Services Team on everyone reading at grade level by third grade.
Provide Strategic Fiscal Oversight: Navigate complex budget cycles with transparency and expertise, ensuring resources are prioritized for the classroom.
Engage the Community: Act as a visible and approachable ambassador, strengthening partnerships with the City of Vacaville, local businesses, and our dedicated families.
Cultivate Meaningful Relationships: Lead with empathy and respect, building trust across students, staff, families, and community partners to support a positive and inclusive district culture.

Experience and Education
Masters Degree
Any combination of experience, training and/or education to demonstrate proficiency in the knowledge and abilities listed is required.
